A 13-year-old opened fire inside a school in northwestern Brazil on Tuesday, killing two staff members and wounding a third and a student, authorities said.
The shooting took place in Rio Branco, the capital of Acre state, where the local government said the teenager suspected of being the shooter had been arrested and was being held by police.
The child's father, the owner of the firearm used, was also arrested.

The injured were taken to hospital and police in Acre are investigating.
"In the face of this tragedy, the state expresses its deep solidarity with the families of the victims, the school community of the San José Institute and all education professionals," the local government added in a statement.

He added that social and psychological support teams have been mobilized to provide assistance to students and teachers.
As required by the safety protocol in force, classes have been suspended for three days in all educational institutions in the state.
