The company One Albania is suspected of not fully cooperating with law enforcement authorities during investigations into call center fraud.

According to the documents available to the Tirana Court: News24, Albanian authorities have sent several official requests to the company to identify users of IP addresses suspected of being used for illegal activity. One Albania has not made the requested data available, unlike other operators that have cooperated with customer information.

The court documents state that the lack of this information has created concrete difficulties in advancing the investigation, forcing authorities to seek assistance from international partners. The police have even reminded the company of its criminal liability in case of non-cooperation or delays in providing information.

In an official response dated December 19, 2024, the company argued that the IP addresses in question are public and that there is no technical possibility to identify specific users without additional data, such as end-user IPs. Despite this position, the authorities have continued to request additional information and have emphasized the importance of cooperation in the investigation.

Meanwhile, on the ground, the State Police has continued the action by seizing in recent hours around 200 other computers in premises suspected of being a call center in Tirana.

Operation "Ghost Call", developed after a 2-year investigation in cooperation with Austrian authorities and with the support of Europol, has led to the discovery of 12 premises involved in this activity.

So far, 10 people have been arrested, while several others are wanted. Over 891 euros, hundreds of electronic devices and other evidence suspected of being related to the fraud scheme have also been seized.

Investigations continue to fully uncover this network and determine the responsibilities of all actors involved.
