The National Inspectorate for Territorial Protection (IKMT) has suspended activity and imposed fines on five entities operating in the Dhërmi area, in the Himara Municipality, for violating environmental legislation.

According to the IKMT announcement, following complaints from citizens, the Directorate of Environmental and Water Inspection conducted inspections in areas where the activity of fractionation and processing of stone aggregates takes place.

During the inspections, it was found that the entities had not respected the conditions set out in the permits issued by the environmental authorities. As a result, the companies “Gjikuria”, “Anchor Beton”, “Eral Construction Company” and “Beton Express 2018” were punished with administrative measures, including the suspension of activity and the imposition of fines.

IKMT emphasizes that, in order to ensure the smooth running of the tourist season, it calls on all entities that carry out activities on the coastline to respect legal obligations for environmental protection.

The institution underlines that it will continue field inspections and will not tolerate any violation of legislation in the field of construction, environment and forests.
