Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Elisa Spiropali, continued her visit to Washington with several meetings in the American Congress, which focused on deepening cooperation between Albania and the US in several dimensions.

The Foreign Minister of Albania was received by the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy in the US Congress, US Army veteran Brian Mast, committed to advancing US-Albania relations.

During this meeting, cooperation in the field of security as NATO allies was emphasized, as well as the joint commitment to stability in the Western Balkans, including Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic perspective.

Spiropali also met with Congressman Jimmy Patronis about the potential for cross-sectoral cooperation in areas such as increasing American investment in Albania, especially in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Spiropali and Patronis focused on the importance of infrastructural connectivity through the strategic Corridor VIII project for NATO's security and military mobility.

The Minister thanked the congressmen for their special attention to the Western Balkans, while the continued US engagement in the region continues to be essential for democratic development.

Further, Minister Spiropali will be received in the US Senate by Senators Steve Daines, Gary Peters and Elissa Slotkin, where Albania's role as a close partner of the United States of America will be reaffirmed.

Spiropali's official visit will continue with meetings with senior officials at the US Department of State and with the leaders of "The Heritage Foundation".
