The Albanian government signed a cooperation agreement in the field of military industry with the Italian company “Financantieri”. The agreement between the Italian company and the Albanian military industry company “KAYO” foresees the production of small and medium-sized ships initially for the Albanian Armed Forces and then for export to international markets. This company that illegally evicted the television from its buildings News24, trumpeted that it would produce military weapons, but also various vehicles such as ambulances, drones, it seems to have left this plan behind, by approving the agreement for the construction of ships in Pashaliman. In August last year, KAYO, which is headed by former police officer Ardi Veliu, took ownership of the buildings of the former Autotraktor Factory, but has not yet started concrete activities on the ground, while the television News24 was urgently removed from the buildings under the pretext of developing industrial projects in the defense sector.

Minister of Defense, Ermal Nufi, said that this agreement will provide job opportunities. “About 400 people will be employed in this new site, which is a cornerstone, not only for industrial production but also for the employment of young men and women for a cutting-edge technology that will be developed in Vlora,” said Nufi. Prime Minister Edi Rama described the agreement as an important moment for the future of the country’s security and economy.

"This agreement is very good news for young people, for the girls and boys of the Vlora industrial school, who will be the first to be contacted and invited to participate in a training journey tailored to be participants tomorrow, and not in a distant future, but in a very near future, of this new society of excellence in their territory," he said.

But what history does the Italian company have?
"RaiNews" in January 2023 writes that at the Porto Marghera shipyard in Venice, Italy, workers are exploited by "Fincantieri".
Italian media reports 13 convictions for the people who recruited the workers, totaling 17 years in prison. Meanwhile, over 2 million euros were confiscated from 7 companies that acted as subcontractors.
"RaiNews" writes about dubious subcontracting, false invoices, foreign workers who were paid 5-6 euros per hour for 12 hours of work, without breaks, and willing to do anything to obtain or keep a residence permit.
