Analyst Edvin Kulluri, invited to News24, has conducted an analysis of the political situation in Albania, focusing on the daily protests that have been ongoing for more than 70 days against Prime Minister Edi Rama, as well as the internal crises that are affecting the majority.

During his speech, Kulluri harshly criticized the prime minister's approach to local government and territorial reforms, emphasizing that the principle of democracy and regionalization is being severely damaged:

"Rama, instead of listening to the protests in the country, in all the municipalities that will be merged, insists and psychologically violates the representatives of these communities. The great damage was done in the 2014 reform, anti-democratic, against the regionalization policy for European municipalities. I cannot understand how Rama continues with this autocratic zeal to concentrate power in his hands."

Further, the analyst outlined the distortion of the balance of power in the country and its direct effect on civic revolts:

"The fewer municipalities there are, the weaker the parliament, the weaker the president of the republic, the stronger the prime minister becomes. We have created a monster prime minister who is against every democratic principle and against the freedoms of every interest group. Our constitution has been defiled because the people's space has been taken away in every aspect, and we have reached the point where people have been in the square for over 70 days in protest!"

Regarding the situation within the Socialist Party, Kulluri stated that there are divisions and clear signals of instability in the majority, especially after the actions of the judiciary against key cabinet figures:

"There is a group in the SP that does not agree with many things that are happening in this government and the reason was, I believe, the failure to hand over Belinda Balluku's mandate after SPAK demanded her arrest. The fact that a few months after the new government, Rama makes changes shows instability within. There is a group that is critical," said Kulluri.
