The Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier completed the investigations and sent for trial the subject "PV" sh.pk, as well as its administrator, citizen BA, accused of the criminal offense "Damage to habitats in environmentally protected areas". According to the prosecution, the investigations resulted in the company having engaged in illegal activity by taking, extracting, processing and transporting inert materials along the Vjosa River, causing significant damage to the natural habitat of the protected area with "Natural Park" status.

The prosecution announced that the area where the inert materials were taken is part of the central subzone with the highest level of protection, where any type of economic activity is prohibited.

According to the investigation, the company's activity has led to a serious deterioration of the natural habitat through intensive land use and the use of tools that have caused profound changes in biodiversity, structure and functioning of the ecosystem along the Vjosa River. At the end of the judicial review, the court found both the legal entity, the company "PV" sh.pk, and its administrator, BA, guilty of the criminal offense "Damage to habitats in environmentally protected areas", provided for by Article 202/bi of the Criminal Code.

The Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier completed the investigations and is sending the entity "PV" sh.pk, as well as its administrator, citizen BA, to trial on charges of committing the criminal offense "Damage to habitats in environmentally protected areas", provided for by Article 202/bi of the Criminal Code.

The investigations proved the commission of illegal activity, which consisted of the taking, extraction, processing and transportation of inert materials along the Vjosa River, actions that had resulted in the damage to the natural habitat of the protected environmental area with special status "Nature Park". The area where the inert materials were taken is a central sub-area, which enjoys the highest level of protection (attricte area), in which the development of any type of economic activity is not allowed.

The Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier proved that the company "PV" sh.pk has caused serious deterioration of the habitat located within the environmentally protected area, resulting in considerable damage to it, through the use of land with intensive technology, tools and methods that cause radical changes in biodiversity, in the structure and functions of ecosystems, as well as irreparably damaging the land surface along the Vjosa River.

At the conclusion of the judicial review, the court found the legal entity, the company "PV" sh.pk, and its administrator, citizen BA, guilty of committing the criminal offense "Damage to habitats in environmentally protected areas", provided for by Article 202/bi of the Criminal Code.

The Fier Prosecution Office remains committed to investigations with a special focus on the fight against environmental crimes, pursuing with priority any case that violates the environment, biodiversity and protected natural areas.
