A burnt-out vehicle was found today in the Volva area, about an hour from Serres, Greece. Authorities suspect it is the second car used by accomplices of convicted Albanian Gentian Cipi after his spectacular escape.
According to information, a passerby noticed the fire at around 06:00 and notified the fire service. Firefighters immediately intervened and extinguished the flames, preventing them from spreading to the surrounding forest area.
The location of the vehicle is considered an important element in the investigation, as it could provide authorities with information on the route taken by the perpetrators after their escape. The main suspicion is that the car was used as a second means of escape and then burned to cover its tracks.
Earlier, the first vehicle suspected of being linked to the incident, a **Nissan Navara**, was found near the Serres hospital. Inside it, a Kalashnikov, a can of gasoline, and license plates were found.
41-year-old Gentian Cipi was transported to Serres Hospital in a prison service vehicle. According to publicly available data, no police assistance was requested for his transfer.
Cipi was accompanied by two other prisoners and five escorts. After the vehicle arrived at the hospital yard, some of the people got out, while Cipi remained inside along with another prisoner and two escorts.
At that moment, at least three armed men, who allegedly arrived in two vehicles, threatened the escort and managed to force Cipi out of the vehicle. The perpetrators then fled in an unknown direction.
Greek police continue their search to identify and capture the people involved, while the vehicles found and the seized evidence are being analyzed to reconstruct their movements after the escape.
