Turkish authorities have carried out a large-scale anti-drug operation in Istanbul, which has led to the detention of 22 people, including several well-known names in the entertainment, television and social media industries.

The operation was carried out on Thursday morning as part of an investigation led by the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office. According to authorities, simultaneous raids were carried out in several areas of the city, as part of an investigation into suspected drug trafficking and use.

Among the detained people are also reported to be well-known public figures, including singer Kenan Doğulu, actress Beren Saat, as well as other names from music, television and social media such as Kerimcan Durmaz, Ayşe Hatun Önal, Ozan Doğulu, Berdan Mardini, Enis Arıkan and influencer Selin Ciğerci.

The list of detainees also includes several producers, artists and other public figures, including Tolga Çam, Ferhan Kaya, Murat Saygı, Mehmet Cem Karcı, Yaşar İpek and others involved in the investigation.

Turkish authorities have not yet provided details on the specific charges against each of the suspects, while legal proceedings and interrogations continue at the Istanbul police headquarters.

The Attorney General's Office has announced that the investigation remains open and that the operation is part of a broader investigation against suspected narcotics networks.
