The Fier Court has today ruled on the guilty plea of ​​the defendant Ilir Nukaj, for the criminal offense of "intentional serious injury resulting in death", provided for by Article 88/2, to the detriment of the victim Namik Rustemi, and sentenced him to 12 years in prison.

The prosecution requested 10 years in prison, but the trial panel, chaired by Klodiana Kryeziu and members Noel Veizi and Alfred Konomi, sentenced him to 12 years in prison.

After the court's decision was handed down, the victim's family members reacted in the courtroom with insults and threats towards the jury.

Meanwhile, the victim's granddaughter, after being escorted by the police, refused to leave the court premises and broke the glass of the main court door.

The Fier Prosecutor's Office has initiated proceedings against her.

The incident took place on October 13 in the village of Povelçë, outside the grocery store owned by the victim, Namik Rustemi. According to witnesses, he raped the elderly after they refused to sell him alcohol.
