The mother of 20-year-old Joan Zuko, Ornela Zuko, has reacted to the murder of her son in Korça, announcing the date of the final farewell ceremony. Through a touching post on social media, she announced that Joan will be taken to his final home on August 11, at 12:00.
The young man's mother says that it is impossible for her to respond to everyone in these moments of pain, while describing her son as "the light of her eyes" and her greatest love.
"With a broken heart and the greatest pain that a mother's soul can bear, we, unable to respond to everyone, announce that on August 11, at 12:00, we will say our final goodbye to my little son, the light of my mother's eyes. My son, you will forever remain my spirit, my greatest love and the most precious part of my heart. Mom will never forget you and will keep you in her soul until her last breath. Rest in peace, mom's angel," writes Ornela Zuko.
Joan Zuko was shot dead in Korça after a conflict with 20-year-old Kristjan Sterjo, who was arrested a few hours after the incident. According to preliminary investigations, there had been conflicts between the two young men even earlier, while the investigation group is working to fully clarify the motive and dynamics of the crime. Sterjo was arrested after an operation by the Police and RENEA forces, and is now expected to face justice for the serious incident that took the 20-year-old's life.
