Democratic Party MP Luan Baçi has declared that the opposition does not recognize the May 11 elections, while warning of the continuation of protests and political actions against the government.
Invited to the show "Studio24", Baçi stated that the country is "in an autocracy and under the rule of a single man", referring to Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The Democratic MP emphasized that the opposition's participation in the Assembly does not mean recognition of the election results.
"Our presence in Parliament does not indicate recognition of the elections. Boycotting parliament or surrendering mandates has not brought anything positive, it was an unforgivable mistake of the opposition when it was made. Going to parliament does not legitimize the government," he declared.
Baçi warned that the Democratic Party will continue protests and other forms of civic reaction.
"The DP continues and we will have protests with all means, ways and forms to show what we have said. We will have protests in other forms as well. We will continue with protests, revolt, anger and calls to citizens. We will be on their side", said the Democrat MP.
He also commented on the attacks of the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, against the EU ambassador in Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, defending the opposition's critical stance towards internationals.
"We will attack the internationals who are to be attacked for the positions they hold when we see that they are not right positions. The complex that internationals are always right, they are not Zeus, they have not descended from heaven to earth," declared Baçi.
