Lawyer Sokol Hazizaj in an interview on the show "This Week" IN News24, spoke about the "Partizani" file, also commenting on the decision of the GJKKO which called Prime Minister Edi Rama as a witness in the trial.
During the interview, Hazizaj said that the Prime Minister's summons as a witness, according to him, is not surprising, since he was summoned in his capacity as mayor of Tirana at the time.
He also emphasized that the judgment regarding this issue should not be political.
"I do not think that calling the current prime minister as a witness constitutes a political trick or a procedural trick. In the confrontation that the defense had, it was subsequently established that one of the links in which the driving license was granted was also the mayor... I think that the Partizani case is what the investigation body has prejudiced, it is completely political and has no connection at all with the fact or the thing that happened. Rama does not come in the capacity of prime minister, but as mayor, he is responsible for every given signature, for every signature placed in the situation that he has exercised his duty both as mayor and as president of the Tirana KRT. So he was aware of all the legal actions of the former owners. This is considered, So it is also a tag because of the responsibility that the person, Rama, has in this specific case. And there is no wonder that Mr. Berisha's defense is asking him as a witness, asking Mr. Rama or even Mr. Balla or even any other witness. Explanations should be given if this "The process was legal, according to that time because of the signature. But I say with conviction that this issue is simple and not as politically charged as it has been. The introduction of the property compensation innovation is a political product. Since Malltezi, who comes from the Begeja family, Llagami, who comes from Llagami, not to mention their grandchildren, are the grandchildren of the real owners, so there is no untruth here. Or that one becomes someone's son-in-law... But you don't have to dress up the whole legal process and treat it as a political process. The former owners should benefit like all Albanian citizens," he said.
