The Albanian community in Melbourne, Australia, has held a massive rally in support of the protest in Tirana, which is holding its 14th consecutive rally today, with the largest participation ever in a popular revolt in Albania.

This event brought together Albanians from all over Australia, as well as compatriots from New Zealand, who gathered to express their deep concern about the current situation in Albania and to demand more responsibility, transparency and justice from public institutions.

Participants held banners and clear messages against corruption, impunity and misuse of public assets. They emphasized that national assets, nature, public property and the future of the country must be protected at all costs to serve exclusively the interests of citizens.

Through this rally, the Albanian diaspora unified its voice to demand a real fight against corruption, accountability from public officials, transparency in decision-making, equal justice for all, and the immediate end of impunity.

The organizers stated that the main goal of this meeting was to make the voice of Albanians who live abroad, but who continue to contribute and be interested in their homeland, be heard strongly.

At the same time, they called on all compatriots in Albania not to give up and not to fall prey to apathy or the belief that nothing can change. Although after 35 years of disappointments and broken promises many people think that hope has been lost, the participants in Melbourne conveyed the message that resistance and faith still remain alive.

Their messages emphasized that although it has become impossible to weaken the trust of citizens, the strength of each person is greater than one might think. Real change begins when people refuse to be silent and refuse to give up, which is why Albania today needs the voice of every Albanian, inside and outside its borders. The motto “Homeland is not for sale” was reconfirmed as a vital call for the protection of the public interest, justice, democracy and the future of the country.
