New details have emerged regarding the incident that occurred in the early hours of this morning, where a 37-year-old man was wounded with a gunshot at the entrance to the city, at a place called "Customs".
Initially, the circumstances of the incident were unclear, but after the investigative team worked intensively on reviewing security cameras taken from businesses and homes around the area, the dynamics of the incident were revealed.
It is learned that the injured man, Fabjel Toska (Xhindi), was traveling in a Seat vehicle with a friend on the Kombinat-Dimal national highway.
From the footage, another vehicle is also visible, a black SUV, and both vehicles pass each other several times. After that, the injured man gets out of the vehicle and runs to the other car, from the driver's side (to explain to him why he was following him from behind and passing him), but as soon as the driver opens the window, he shoots him with a bullet in the stomach.
The injured man's friend also appears to get out of the Seat, but as soon as he sees Fabiel being shot and falling to the ground, he runs away and calls the police.
Police sources confirm that the injured man and the friend he was in the car with had no previous acquaintance, this was also stated in the statements they both gave during questioning by the crime inspectors at the Berat DVP. After being injured, Fabjel Toska (Xhindi), 37, a resident of the "Çlirim" neighborhood in Berat, was transported by ambulance to the Berat Regional Hospital, where after receiving the necessary treatment, he was transported to the Trauma Hospital, in serious condition.
The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is intensively continuing investigations to clarify the circumstances and secure evidence, with the aim of fully legally documenting the event, identifying and capturing the perpetrator(s).
