A serious incident occurred yesterday evening in Chalkida, Greece, where a 23-year-old man lost his life after being stabbed during a violent fight between two groups of fans.
According to authorities, 8 people, divided into two groups, were involved in the conflict. Two other people were injured, but fortunately out of danger to their lives. Two of the arrested were injured during the fight that took place on Lilantion Street.
According to police sources, the 23-year-old man who was killed and five of the six people arrested had not previously been registered with the police. While the sixth, a 19-year-old, has a criminal record and is known as a crime contingent. A seventh person has not yet been identified and is being sought by the police. The victim was transported in a private vehicle by unknown persons to the Halkida hospital, where he was abandoned at the entrance. Despite the efforts of the doctors, the young man died due to his injuries.
Greek police (ELAS) spokeswoman Constantia Dimoglidou confirmed that eight people were involved in the incident, divided into two rival groups. Meanwhile, a second incident occurred shortly after near Eleftherias Square, where a 20-year-old man was found covered in blood and rushed to Chalkida Hospital. According to Protothema, the 20-year-old is being treated under police supervision and is not in danger of life. He has fractures and a stab wound under his eye.
