Six pedestrians, including a police officer, were injured after a car struck several people during a serious incident in Culver City, in the Los Angeles area, on Tuesday afternoon, authorities and local media reported.

According to police, the incident began around 7 p.m. after a call about a person suspected of stealing a vehicle and threatening another person with a knife. Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver initially hit two people with his car, triggering a police pursuit. While trying to flee, he also hit four other pedestrians.

Authorities say the exact condition of the injured is still unknown, while several vehicles suffered material damage during the pursuit. The incident ended when the suspect crashed into a vehicle in the area of ​​a McDonald's drive-thru restaurant, where he was later arrested by police. A police officer was also injured during the intervention.

Local police said the suspect's motive remains unclear, calling his behavior "reckless and dangerous." "We don't know his motive yet, but he put the lives of many people in our city at risk," a police department spokesman said.


The perpetrator was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and is expected to face multiple charges, including attempted murder. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
