A serious incident was recorded this morning in the village of Morinë, Kukës, where a police officer from Kosovo was found without signs of life in the village cemetery.
According to preliminary information from the State Police, at around 08:25, citizen Sh. H., 35 years old, resident of Prizren, who was a police officer in the Rapid Reaction Unit in Prizren, was found dead.
Initial investigations suggest that the 35-year-old committed suicide with a firearm, a pistol. The weapon was seized by authorities as material evidence.
A special investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, has begun work to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident and to determine the causes that led to this act.
Meanwhile, the State Police is in cooperation with the Kosovo Police to verify whether the seized weapon is the service weapon of the 35-year-old officer, as well as to provide any necessary information for the legal documentation of the case.
