The leader of the Agrarian Environmentalist Party, Agron Duka, has been critical of the divisions within the opposition, stating that the candidates facing Sali Berisha should have come out with a common stance.

According to Duka, whenever opposition groups manage to harmonize, this is seen positively by their supporters, while conflicts and clashes only increase political divisions. Duka warned that strong clashes could lead to the creation of new political forces or the rapprochement of individuals with existing parties, which according to him would further deepen the division in the opposition.

He added to the 'Lunch Program' in News24 with Ola Bruko that political competition loses meaning when in the end only one candidate remains in the race.

"The other candidates facing Berisha should have united. Every time we see them harmonize, we are pleased. But when they clash, we don't like it. Those who have come out strongly can create political forces. Maybe they will prefer to join existing parties, it would deepen the division. A lot has been done. I know why these problems arise, because when Berisha sits at the table, it seems like he accepts the union. I know why this happens! The race is over, until he comes out with a candidate, there is no race!", he said.
