Interpol Tirana has successfully finalized two separate operations for the extradition of Albanian citizens declared internationally wanted, who had been convicted by local courts for various criminal offenses.
As a result of close cooperation with foreign law enforcement authorities, two people have been brought to Albania:
Extradition from the United Kingdom: Citizen Kostandino Tahiri (KT) has been brought to our country. This citizen was sentenced in 2021 by the Tirana Judicial District Court to 3 years in prison, for the criminal offense of "Intentional Serious Injury".
Extradition from Greece: Citizen Andrea Biti (AB) has been extradited from Athens. He was sentenced in 2024 by the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier to 8 months in prison for the criminal offense of "Theft".
Both citizens have been handed over to the General Directorate of Prisons for further procedures and to serve the sentences imposed by the Albanian justice system.
