Following the demolition by the IKMT of a 5-story building built without a permit in Himara and the arrest in flagrante delicto of the building's owner by the State Police, the Police Supervision Agency (AMP) has continued investigations to document the responsibilities of the police officers involved in this case.

From the investigations conducted so far, it results that the chain of command of the police structures of the Himara Police Commissariat was involved in the incident. Specifically, four employees of the State Police are being prosecuted for the criminal offense of "Abuse of duty", provided for by Article 248 of the Criminal Code.

These are Emiljano Prenga, Head of Crimes in Volum at the Divjaka Police Station, who previously held the same position at the Himara Police Station, and Klodian Petanin, Crime Investigation Specialist at the Vlora Police Station, previously in the same position in Himara. Both have been detained and arrested.

Also included in the proceedings are Ferit Merkaj, acting Head of the Traffic Section at the Vlora DVP, previously Head of the Himara Police Station, and Redin Çaushaj, acting SPZ at the Himara Police Station. Both were declared wanted.

Following the procedural actions, two of the employees who were declared wanted have appeared and have been detained on their own initiative. Meanwhile, the other two employees have not been found in their homes and, despite notifications, have not appeared at the relevant structures.

The procedures for declaring these two employees wanted have been completed.

AMP announces that investigative actions are continuing to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident and document the legal responsibilities of the persons involved.
