A 35-year-old Albanian man has been identified as the victim of a serious murder in San Giorgio delle Pertiche, Italy. He is Ferdinant Hoti, a resident of Mirano, whose body was found in a Fiat Bravo submerged in the Tergola River.
The identification was made through fingerprints and other evidence collected by investigators. According to the autopsy, the 35-year-old was shot at close range, while his hands were tied at the time of execution. Forensic expertise has determined that the victim had died before the body was thrown into the water, as no signs of water were found in the lungs.
The Carabinieri are reconstructing the Albanian's movements during the evening of September 7, while security cameras in the area are being analyzed to identify the people he met with.
Meanwhile, the owner of the Fiat Bravo, a resident of the province of Venice, who had not reported the theft of the vehicle, was also identified through the chassis number.
Investigators are questioning him to clarify his role in the incident.
The discovery of the body in a black bag, covered with vehicle tires, and the sinking of the car in the river have reinforced suspicions that this was a planned murder and an attempt to cover up the tracks.
