The murder of 27-year-old Albanian Sulo Halili, originally from Beçishti, Tepelena, still remains a mystery. The young Albanian was shot before his body was set on fire inside a vehicle, which was found burned to death in Greece.
The extramarital affair he had with a girl, with whom he communicated on social networks, is one of the leads in the investigation, as it is learned that she was threatened by her ex-partner, Greek media reported.
The victim's aunt stated that the only person with whom the 27-year-old had conflicts was a Greek citizen, the ex-boyfriend of the girl with whom Sulo Halili had developed a romance.
But the way the Albanian was killed shows that the crime was committed by people who had been planning his elimination for a long time, and above all, they knew what to do to cover their tracks. The 27-year-old, a construction worker and resident of Halkida, had told his relatives before he disappeared that he was going to Thebes with a friend. According to information, he left his friend in Thebes and told the latter that he was going to Vilia in Attica for a job. There, two days after his disappearance, the 27-year-old's car was found abandoned. The 27-year-old was married and even called his wife when he arrived at the scene to inform her.
According to the forensic report, the victim was shot at least once before his body was burned inside the car. The killers reportedly left no trace behind. They used a stolen car with fake license plates that matched an identical vehicle.
On the show "With an Open Heart" by author and moderator Evis Ahmeti, Sulo Halili's father recounted details of the serious incident.
"The son's daughter-in-law informed me about the incident. The day he disappeared, the son went to get his license. He was with a friend of his, then they parted ways, when he called her, the phone was turned off. My son had no conflicts with anyone.
No one has threatened him, at least not that I'm aware of.
He was very calm, he had been living in Greece for about 6-7 years. He had been married for 4 years. The marriage was a little problematic, but I don't know more about what the reason was. They have 2 children together, minors.
"My son's body was identified only thanks to DNA, the tests were compared with the blood I donated," he said.
