A decade ago, one of the greatest sporting tragedies would be recorded in the French Alps, as Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher fell while skiing in Meribel.

An accident that completely changed the life of Schumacher and his family, and since that day there has been very little information about the former driver's health. Yesterday, December 29, marked ten years since the accident. On this day, as always, there have been messages from the world of sports for the great Formula 1 champion. Ferrari, the team with which Schumacher made history, has reacted through a post on social networks.

"Ten years later you are still in our hearts. Keep fighting Michael!", was the team's message from Maranello to mark an anniversary that we would all like to forget.

Schumacher, as is well known, won five consecutive world titles at Maranello, from 2000 to 2004. Ferrari's message was accompanied by an image of Michael smiling at the top of one of the 91 races he won in 19 world championship seasons. A record achieved and then surpassed only by Lewis Hamilton, who took his place at Mercedes at the beginning of 2013, a year that would end with Schumacher's serious accident in the Alps.

The photo accompanying Ferrari's post was quite emblematic and representative of Schumacher's career. He was portrayed on the podium of the 2002 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, an event that the German won on Sunday, July 7, three years after the serious accident on the same track and in a very significant way during an extraordinary season. In a championship where Schumacher would record his fifth Formula 1 title, a success that would come two weeks later in France, with six races remaining before the end of the calendar!

Shumi had already won with Ferrari at the historic English circuit in 1998 and would repeat in 2004, another memorable season, the seventh and final world title of his record collection.
