Following the tour of meetings with pre-university education structures at the start of the 2026-2027 school year, Minister of Education Mirela Kumbaro stopped in Fier, where she gathered all the heads of schools and local education offices of the Regional Directorate of Education and from where she gave some important messages and instructions for the organization of the school year.

The Minister began her speech with the importance of the Code of Ethics and communication in the role that school leaders have as mediators of communities.

"Dear colleagues, you are not just a principal of that school, you are a parent, a school manager, a school psychologist; of students and teachers and parents. You are the most important mediator between the school and the community, the municipality, the administrative units. And this was the reason why this year, the first day of school, we designated as a day without a teaching schedule, but dedicated to communication," said Minister Kumbaro.

Kumbaro mentioned the calendar of activities from the national olympiads to the "Reading Movement 2.0" which will launch soon.

"We have many activities ahead, we have Olympiads, including a new Olympiad in foreign languages. We have the science festival in high schools that is in its second edition, we will redesign the Albanian Language Competition for ninth graders and call it "The Albanian Trail" to make it more cultural, and we will also launch a new action for reading," the minister continued.

During the meeting, Minister Kumbaro requested that applicants for trainers of the "After School" program, which will be extended to more than 90 schools of DRAP Fier, be selected with special care, as well as increased attention and communication regarding safety in schools.
