The elders of the 9 villages of the Fierza Unit gathered the residents of the area in a joint assembly, where they unanimously opposed the merger of the Fushë-Arrëz Municipality with Puka. The geographical distance with Puka of about 100 kilometers and the lack of will to invest in rural areas were two of the main arguments that the residents presented at the assembly that was held near the Fierza Church.

The residents of Fierza say they have been forgotten by institutions and governments for 30 years, giving two main examples: the lack of investment in the area's electricity supply, which supplies all of Albania, and investments in education.
The elders of the villages of Fierza said they will join the protest to be held in Fushë-Arrëz on August 7, by the municipality that opposes the draft proposed by the SP, to join Puka.
