Former Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz will start a new job in the private sector.

After leaving politics, he has signed a contract with an investment company in Silicon Valley and will move his family to the United States, Austrian media report.

The Gronen Zeitung newspaper writes that Kurz will start a managerial job at an unnamed company that operates internationally in early February.

The daily Oesterreich reported that his salary will be 5 thousand euros.

The 36-year-old left politics, saying he had decided to spend more time with his family, devoting himself to his newborn son. His decision came weeks after Austrian prosecutors raided his office as part of a corruption investigation.
