The 2026 Formula 1 World Championship is about to begin.

One of the most controversial and talked-about seasons of recent years will start this weekend in Melbourne, with the regulation changes and new power units still a big question mark. However, there are those who are optimistic and are convinced that they will do better than last year, such as Lewis Hamilton. "The Year of the Horse (according to the Chinese calendar) offers the opportunity for a rebirth and from a technical point of view, in F1 everyone starts from scratch. There is nothing more exciting, it is wonderful," declares Hamilton.

THE RIGHT YEAR – In the interview given to "Corriere della Sera", the British pilot uses warm words for his team, Ferrari: "Only two people in the world drive a Ferrari in F1 and I am one of them". Hamilton then addresses the fans: "Their empathy is incredible, both in good days and in difficult ones. We can't promise anything, but it's enough to do a lap here (in Maranello) to understand the extraordinary efforts of each person".

COMMENT ON THE NEW CAR – "I have been working on the 2026 single-seater for 14 months, in the simulator and with the engineers. Unlike the previous car, which I found already designed and where I could change very little, there is a little of my DNA in this car and that excites me," says the seven-time world champion.

RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LITTLE LITTLE – There was also a comment on the relationship with teammate Charles Leclerc: "My goal is not to divide the fans. We both want to win and it is clear that I would like to be the one to triumph and I am working for that. But the team comes first. Charles is a phenomenal driver, for the way he drives and for his ethics, and he has been here for eight years", declares the 41-year-old. Hamilton still has a strong conviction for this season: "After what we went through last year, we can face any situation. This team has everything to win. We have to finish the job together with the fans. It is easier said than done, but I came to Ferrari because I believed and I continue to believe", concludes the British driver.
