Charles Leclerc has returned to victory in Formula 1. The Ferrari driver triumphed in the British Grand Prix, held at the Silverstone track, recording his first success of the season and his first in almost two years.
The Monegasque took the lead from the first corner and managed the race with authority until the checkered flag. He was followed by George Russell in the Mercedes, also favored by a strategic mistake by Ferrari, which brought Lewis Hamilton into the pits for a tire change just a few laps from the end, during the safety car period. The Briton lost second place and had to be content with a podium finish at home.
The safety car was deployed after Max Verstappen's accident, which left him with no points. Lando Norris finished fourth in a McLaren.
A race to forget for Kimi Antonelli as well. The Italian Mercedes driver, who until the last moments was fighting for victory, faced technical problems and a five-second penalty, ending the race only in 16th place.
Despite the result, Antonelli continues to lead the overall championship standings, although his lead over George Russell has narrowed to 25 points, while Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc are getting even closer in the fight for the title.
