Fireworks are a symbol of celebration, victory, and joy at important events. They create positive emotions, but when used irresponsibly, they can transform from a symbol of celebration into a source of danger and even tragedy.
For some time now, especially in Tirana, the release of fireworks late at night near homes by irresponsible individuals has become a concern. This phenomenon, in addition to disrupting public peace and the rest of citizens, also poses a real risk to security.
Residents of various areas report loud noises that often last until after midnight, creating stress, anxiety, and concern, especially for families with young children and the elderly.
Furthermore, the uncontrolled use of fireworks in urban environments significantly increases the risk of fires, especially in densely built-up areas.
Tragic events related to the careless use of pyrotechnics have also been recorded in other countries of the world, showing that the consequences can be fatal, such as the Crans-Montana tragedy with 40 victims and dozens injured, or in the nightclub in Kocani, Macedonia where 59 young people lost their lives and dozens of others were injured. These are 2 of the tragic cases that should serve as a serious warning to institutions and society.
Citizens demand immediate intervention from the authorities to strengthen control and punish violators, as well as to increase public awareness of the dangers posed by the uncontrolled use of fireworks. They call for more calm and responsibility, emphasizing that safety and common well-being must be a priority.
Finally, it must be reiterated that fireworks are not simply a means of entertainment, because what starts as a celebration can end in tragedy within seconds.
Therefore, it is important that the state acts as soon as possible and with full responsibility, so that the holiday lights do not turn into flames that endanger people's safety and lives and do not cause tragedies.
