In an interview on the show "Oponencje" on News24, the well-known actor, Mehdi Malkaj, spoke about politics, fear and power.
During the interview, Malkaj expressed concern over society's lack of reaction against the government, or against the injustices they see in their country.
"When we were defending the Theater, Robert said: "The Theater will be destroyed when the fadroma passes over my body". Now he came out to the call, "come out and I will make your prison". But we need a people who understand what is happening. A person has one life, he either lives with honor or with shame, but there is always time to be ashamed. When he left, he became the philosopher of the Socialist Party in the electoral campaign. We have no right to judge him, it is his business. He asks for what he has given, if he has given it", he said.
He further expressed his criticism of the government, recalling the dictatorship of Enver Hoxha, which he said at the time killed people, but today they take away their livelihoods.
"The dictator, Enver Hoxha, is no longer a murderer, but he had issued a law that included us, don't make propaganda against us or I'll kill you. But ours says, speak as much as you want, you are free to speak, but the next day your whole family is laid off. So we are breadwinners. He would kill you, he would take away your bread. So what will the father do, he will lower his head and ask for bread for his children. Artists everywhere in the world are there to educate the people," he said.
