The leader of the "Bashke" movement, Arlind Qori, spoke on the "Minuta e Parë" show on News24 with journalist Ola Bruko, where she commented on the protests and recent political developments in the country.
Qori stated that the goal of the protests is to overthrow the government and, subsequently, the Parliament, as according to him, the current parliament no longer has legitimacy.
"The protests demand the fall of the government. With the fall of the government, this Assembly must fall. This parliament, not the majority, no longer has legitimacy. Society has changed and the majority has changed. If elections are held today, Rama will no longer be able to get a majority. I am convinced that we are seeing a more active society. Today, more than dissatisfied, there is a lot of reaction. What a sacrifice we make to participate in the protest, 3 hours of your life at the most appropriate time of the day, to engage in the protest. So, this is a critical measure that will never be reversed and has its own victory," he asserted.
Speaking about the protesters' slogans, Qori said that the calls for the imprisonment of Rama and Berisha are current and, according to him, express what Albanians are demanding.
"This is an old call, which does not belong to the protest. The calls 'Rama in prison, Berisha in prison' are current calls, which Albanians love. What is happening is that every person with good will should join the protest. We do not want bargaining between party leaders. I abhor this. It may happen that a political party is created from the protest. But the goal is to overthrow what we have. It is a monstrous government! We want a new political process to be crowned with early elections. The goal is to overthrow the government!", he said.
