The evil in Albania comes from the lack of democracy, authoritarianism and corruption that is spread in every cell of the current administration and government. The irresponsibility and arrogance of a regime that is at the end of its life can be seen with the naked eye in every decision of the government and the institutions that depend on it. But should we expect the downfall of a “monster” that is eating itself? Yes, where the DP is, it certainly cannot be waiting for a “turn of power”, but a change of concepts. Every initiative, analysis, position held by each member of the DP, from its leadership structures, even to the opposition voter without being a member, should not be seen as against a group (or grouping) that thinks differently from You, Us, You… It is good that the DP is talking. This is the first sign that openness, different thinking, discussion and not exclusion bring value.
All this energy is initially conceived in the party and then the force of any free discussion, along with ideas, and even platforms, are more valuable and stronger than any force of patronage, crime and corruption, (the three heavy weapons that today's government is using). The opening of the party should not remain just a call, but as an opportunity that everyone should have. Every social stratum with right-wing convictions, or without genuine ideological convictions of politics, but who is in the opposition, should have the necessary space within the Democratic Party. Someone has the opportunity to give an opinion in the media, another within the structures, others, unable to be part of every discussion, do not need podiums, cameras and "large gatherings". A rostrum is also a gathering of small groups in every corner of the country.
It is important to speak, to speak rightly, to speak correctly, to say things in a way that is understandable to everyone. It is important to discuss and not lynch, not to label to name loss, but to find solutions to name everyone who gives ideas. I firmly believe that free speech, even if it is an opinion that is contrary to your political views, should not be seen as heresy. Let us not forget what situation we are in and who our opponent is.
A government that has the domain of every evil that the country has been going through in recent decades is maintained not only by the triad: crime-corruption-patronage, but by using numerous propaganda weapons. Those (opponents), who are at a point of self-destruction from theft among themselves, will try to call the movement and discussions in the DP as the “next split”. This is exactly what we should not allow. The only great “power” that the Democratic Party should have is “free speech”. We should not forget where we come from… In 1990, not only a political entity was created with some written concepts.
The people who united around the DP were the true value and the reason why this force had so much strength in the face of the brutal communist system. We were joined by anti-communists, the most valuable people who gave their lives for free speech. We were joined by a large part of intellectuals, students, youth with conviction and hope. Democracy is not just a word, but a vital concept and thought, the essence of which is free speech, the right and the demand to not allow the universal violation of human rights.
There is room for everyone in the DP! Freedom of thought, conscience, belief, property rights, and equality before the law are universal global norms of societies with developed democracies.
The DP has them and no one should put them into question. Any opposition member who asked for a big opening in the DP thinks that they already see that thought and free speech are the two elements that have begun to have a voice. Think, speak, discuss..! The DP was born this way and in order not to be "dissolved" it must return to the values that never bear the label "past"... Who we are, where we come from and where we are going have only one goal: democracy even within the party with the same name!
