A serious incident has occurred in Italy, where a 25-year-old amateur footballer has lost his life after a violent clash that allegedly started over a trivial conflict over the theft of some pizzas.

According to Italian media, the victim, Gabriele Vaccaro, who had played for lower division teams, was returning in the early hours of Sunday morning (around 03:30) along with two friends, when they were confronted by five young men in the Paria region.

It is suspected that the young men asked them to hand over the pizzas they were carrying, causing a fight that escalated into physical violence. During the fight, the 25-year-old was hit with a sharp object in the neck and stomach.

His friends initially did not realize the seriousness of his injuries and sent him home, but then emergency help was called. He was transported to the hospital, where he sadly died from his injuries.

Italian authorities have arrested three people suspected of involvement in the incident, including two Albanian citizens with Italian citizenship and a 17-year-old of Egyptian origin, who is suspected of being the perpetrator of the fatal attack. One of the victim's friends was slightly injured and is being treated in hospital.

Investigations are ongoing to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
