The Italian football coaching changes have entered their hottest phase and it all starts with Napoli. Aurelio De Laurentiis has decided to trust Massimiliano Allegri to lead Napoli, a choice that has automatically narrowed the race for the Italian national team's bench.

Now, there are two main candidates for the Italy bench: Antonio Conte and Roberto Mancini. Conte is currently without a team after ending his adventure with Napoli and is considered the main favorite to return to lead the "azurre". A return that would also have an emotional meaning for the Italian coach, who has never hidden his strong connection with the national team.

Known for his strong character and ability to create compact and competitive groups, Conte is seen as the ideal profile to return Italy to the highest levels, especially after the disappointments of recent years. The Italian Federation is seriously evaluating the possibility of his return, although the economic operation remains costly.

On the other hand, there is Roberto Mancini, the European champion with Italy in 2021. Currently in Qatar at Al Sadd SC, Mancini does not seem convinced to continue in the Middle East for long and remains a concrete alternative for the federation. However, his sudden departure from Italy in 2023 to accept the offer of Saudi Arabia continues to weigh on public opinion and within the federation environment.

In the background remains the possible influence of Giovanni Malagò, a name seen close to the future presidency of the Italian federation and considered a supporter of Mancini.

But today, all signs point to Antonio Conte. Italy seems ready to trust again a coach who knows how to ignite the fighting spirit of the team and restore enthusiasm to the "azurre". The final decision is expected in the coming weeks.
