Ambassador Eric Wendt has been confirmed by the US Senate with a vote of 51 to 47, receiving final approval for his diplomatic assignment.

According to sources, the vote in the plenary session comes after earlier approval in the relevant Senate committee, where his candidacy received the support of the majority of members.

Earlier, his candidacy had received the support of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee by a vote of 19-3, paving the way for final approval in the plenary session of the Senate.

With this vote, the confirmation procedure is completed and the ambassador is expected to take office in the coming days, according to the deadlines set by the US administration.
