The court hearing at the GJKKO Court of Appeals has concluded in the case of the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, arrested for corruption since February 10, 2025.
During the hearing, the court was briefed on the two-month investigation and information conducted by SPAK.
According to the Special Prosecution Office, 112 investigations have been carried out so far, including the examination of seized mobile phones and the collection of testimony.
Regarding the security measure, there has been no change — Veliaj will continue to remain in prison. Procedurally, Veliaj's lawyers have requested a change in the security measure for Veliaj, but Judge Erjon Bani has refused.
During the session, SPAK representatives requested that the security measure "arrest with imprisonment" continue.
