The Guardia di Financa of Vicenza in Italy has cracked down on a drug trafficking network, seizing a significant shipment and arresting two suspects.
An operation conducted by Italian authorities has led to the arrest of two people involved in drug trafficking. An Albanian and an Italian were arrested.
A significant amount of narcotics was also seized during the operation.
The operation was carried out near the town of Recoaro Terme and led to the seizure of 11.4 kilograms of marijuana, as well as cocaine and money suspected to be linked to illegal activity.
A 25-year-old Albanian and a 65-year-old Italian resident in the province of Vicenza were arrested by the Guardia di Finanza.
These citizens were caught by Italian police during a routine evening patrol, after they were spotted entering the car driven by the Albanian, parked near the town of Recoaro Terme, and holding a considerable amount of money.
Suspicious of the circumstances of the place and time, the officers decided to intervene, conducting a police check of the individuals and the vehicle.
Inside, they found 10 bags of marijuana weighing a total of 11.4 kg, hidden inside a fake skirt.
