The number of people who have died this year in Greece due to the West Nile virus has reached 8.
In a statement made by the Greek National Institute of Public Health (EODY), it is noted that in the first week of August, two more people lost their lives due to the virus.
The statement further informs that in the same week 22 cases were identified and that the most cases were observed in the Thessaly region.
With these two people, the number of deaths due to the virus in 2024 has increased to 8, the statement said, further estimating that cases will increase.
