David Beckham made his first public appearance since his eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, made strong statements that shed light on family tensions and allegations of attempts to sabotage his wedding. On Tuesday, January 20, the former England footballer attended the World Economic Forum (WEF), as part of its 56th Annual Meeting taking place in Davos, Switzerland. Beckham looked relaxed and smiling as he posed for photographers and also appeared in a podcast booth, taking part in discussions in line with this year's theme of the forum, titled "A Spirit of Dialogue."
His public appearance comes just hours after Brooklyn Beckham broke his silence in a series of Instagram Stories posts following months of rumors of a rift between him, his wife Nicola Peltz, and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. Despite the intense media attention, David Beckham has chosen not to publicly comment on his son's statements. When asked by Sky News reporters, he only smiled, without making any statements, and continued his normal agenda at the forum.
In the released footage, the journalist is heard asking: "David, do you have a message for Brooklyn after what was revealed this morning?" and then added: "Are you disappointed that family matters are being made public?" The World Economic Forum in Davos gathers every year, according to the official website, global leaders from politics, business, civil society and academia, with the aim of holding discussions on key global challenges and determining priorities for the future.
