The journalist of News24, Enrik Mehmeti died at the age of 40 in a tragic motorcycle accident on Porto-Nova beach in Vlora.
Passionate about Breaking News, but it became the most incredible and saddest news for anyone who was lucky enough to know, talk to and work with him, Enrik Mehmeti left behind a long and prosperous career in the written and visual media.
He joined News24 since the first days of the television's establishment, reporting with dedication and professionalism on the events that occurred in the city of Vlora, from the black chronicle, sensational police operations, social issues, tourism, etc., leaving behind a great loss for the Focus Media Group media family.
With extraordinary courage since he was a child, in the bullets whizzing by him in the infamous year of 1997, Enrik Mehmeti, then only 11 years old, joined the "Alba" missionary camp as a translator, thus becoming the voice of the impossible.
In the courage of a child, yet to grow up, Enrik Mehmeti, as he has previously stated, understood that journalism was his life's mission, running not simply in search of news, but news that happened where he was, in real time.
With determination as a strength of his character and the word as the most powerful tool of a journalist, he joined the "Rai" television in Italy as a correspondent, broadcasting live events from Albania.
His untimely passing is a great loss for the journalist community, a loss for Vlora and its people, for whom he became the missing voice and the image that represented them!
News24, BalkanWeb, Gazeta Shqiptare and Panorama express heartfelt condolences to his mother, wife, children, brother and other family members, joining in prayer that his soul may find the peace it deserves.
