An unexpected incident has disturbed the premises of the Saranda Police Station at around 01:30 on Tuesday. A 22-year-old arrested man, identified by the initials DS, has caused chaos in the isolation rooms after asking to be accompanied to the toilet for personal needs.
On the way back to the room, the young man resisted the police officers, hitting and throwing objects in the corridor. The situation escalated to the point that other detainees were also involved in calming him down. Later, with the intervention of additional police forces, the 22-year-old was brought under control and isolated again.
The arrested man, who lives in Tirana but was renting a house in Saranda during the summer season, was arrested as part of the operation codenamed "Autumn". He has a criminal record, having been arrested twice in the capital. During the search of his rented apartment in Saranda, the police found and seized a revolver firearm.
