The National Food Authority (AKU) announced today that it has ordered the withdrawal from the market of the product "NAN 1 OPTIPRO", infant formula milk, due to the presence of cereulide bacteria.

According to the NFA, after conducting checks and traceability procedures, the entire quantity of the product that was in stock, as well as that returned from the market, has been blocked. The product will be destroyed or returned to its country of origin.

The AKU explains that the announcement for the withdrawal from the market of the 800 gram lot of infant formula "NAN 1 OPTIPRO" was made by the importing entity in Albania, following official communication from the manufacturing company "Nestlé". The measure was taken as a preventive action, after the presence of cereulide bacteria was found in the product during the production process in the Netherlands.

The authority also notes that on-site verifications have found that supermarkets where this product was marketed have posted notices to inform consumers, in accordance with legal requirements.
