Iran has strongly condemned Israel's recent attacks in southern Lebanon, describing them as "brutal" and accusing Tel Aviv of causing casualties and major damage among the civilian population.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the Israeli attacks have caused civilian deaths and injuries, as well as damaged infrastructure and housing in the affected areas.
Israel's "brutal attacks" were condemned by Baghaei, while his statements were broadcast by the semi-official Iranian news agency Tasnim.

Tehran's reaction comes at a tense moment for southern Lebanon, where Israel has intensified military operations despite diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions.
The latest attacks followed the seventh round of talks between Lebanon and Israel, held in Rome with the mediation of the United States. The discussions focused on the implementation of the framework agreement reached on June 26, which aims to reduce tensions and move towards a more sustainable solution.

Meanwhile, the new military escalation has raised concerns that fighting in southern Lebanon could damage the fragile diplomatic process.
