Iran has denied reports that a meeting with the United States will take place in Qatar this week, calling them inaccurate. The statement came after several international media outlets reported that representatives from the two countries would meet in Doha on Tuesday to discuss, among other things, managing the Strait of Hormuz and reducing tensions following mutual attacks over the weekend.

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi told state television that "no meeting of the technical working groups is planned this week," stressing that the information published in the media is incorrect. According to the Iranian Tasnim news agency, Gharibabadi explained that, although consultations with Qatar continue normally, including monitoring the implementation of the United States' commitments, the holding of technical talks in Doha cannot be confirmed.

He added that the first round of these talks will take place only after the necessary conditions are met and an agreement is reached on the date and venue of the meeting. Meanwhile, according to a Reuters report, a source familiar with the process had announced that technical teams from Iran and the US are expected to meet in the coming days to discuss the implementation of an interim agreement after the recent tensions. According to the same source, the issue of security and management of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important oil transport routes in the world, would also be on the agenda.
