Iran does not seek military escalation, but remains open to dialogue to resolve international tensions, President Masoud Pezheskian has said.

According to the state news agency IRNA, the Iranian head of state stressed that Tehran prefers the diplomatic path rather than military confrontation, at a time when relations with the United States remain tense.

"We do not seek war, but dialogue," he said, adding that Iran will not submit to pressure or ultimatums from Washington. According to him, any attempt to impose the American will on Tehran is destined to fail.

In his statements, Pezheskian also criticized military actions that, according to him, harm civilians and vital infrastructure, raising questions about their compliance with international law and humanitarian principles.

A day earlier, the Iranian president had called on European countries to intensify efforts to promote dialogue with the US. During a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron, he stressed that Iran is ready to continue negotiations within the framework of international rules.

According to him, Europe can play a key role in facilitating an agreement, encouraging the parties to return to the negotiating table and avoiding further escalation of the situation.
