A foreign citizen, who has been living and working in Albania for four years, has participated in the protest since day one.
Speaking to the citizens, he said that, even though he is not of Albanian origin and does not own land in the country, he feels connected to Albania and the life he has built here.
"Good evening everyone. Today I speak to you as a foreigner, but also to the foreigners who live here. I am not Albanian, I am not of Albanian origin, but I have lived for 4 years in a village near Apolonia. I live and work in these lands. I eat the fruits of this land, the dishes of this country, only my coffee is imported. I drink Albanian water, beer and of course raki. I am not Albanian, but everything I need to live, I owe to this land. I do not own land, it is not my property, but I belong to this land. My land is what I belong to, not the other way around. The land belongs to those who inhabit it. When Albanians talk about the land, they say 'my land'. What feeds us and shelters us, that is ours. Albania is not for sale," said the foreigner.
