Israel has carried out an overnight airstrike in Iranian territory, killing the head of Iran's National Security Council, Ali Larijani. The news was confirmed by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz.

In a statement, Katz says he was just informed of the death of the senior Iranian security official following Israeli strikes overnight.

Meanwhile, another Israeli air operation in Iran targeted senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad leaders, including leader Akram al-Ajouri, according to Defense Ministry sources.

The Chief of Staff of the Israeli Armed Forces, Eyal Zamir, stated that “significant attacks” were carried out overnight that could have a direct impact on the development of military operations. He emphasized that these strikes come after a series of recent attacks in Iran, which have targeted elements linked to the Palestinian scene. According to him, several senior operatives involved in terrorist activities from Gaza and the West Bank were sheltering in a facility in Tehran at the time of the attack.

Recent developments signal a significant escalation of tensions in the region, while the situation remains unclear and evolving.
