The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Policy, Kaja Kallas, has stated that any possible agreement between Russia and the United States on Ukraine must also include Europe, warning that agreements reached without its participation will not be implemented by European countries.

"Every agreement must be implemented and, for it to be implemented, Europe's involvement is necessary. If we are not part of it, we will not implement it," Kallas said.

She referred to previous attempts to reach agreements between Moscow and Washington, also mentioning what she called the "Anchorage Agreement", which, according to her, did not receive European support.

"We have already seen efforts in this direction, such as the Anchorage Agreement. But this did not work precisely because Europe did not support it. We must be part of these discussions," declared the EU's chief diplomat.
