Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Negotiator for Chapter 5 "Public Procurement", also the General Director of the Public Procurement Agency, Reida Kashta, held a press conference where they spoke about the process and where Albania stands today in the field of public procurement.

"There are some sentences that may sound like they are about Albania, but they are taken from a detailed report by the European Court of Auditors on public procurement.
The report speaks of a lack of awareness of the fact that competition is a key element for public procurement.
If we put our country's indicator, competitiveness, in context and if we look at our country's position in the competitiveness table, if on average contracts with a single bidder are 32.3 percent of contracts in EU countries, in Albania they are 23.5 percent.
"Albania is at a very good stage in advancing negotiations for the European Union," he said.
